We’ve blogged about a b&b place in the shape of a dog before but did you know there’s a kindergarten building in Wolfartsweier, Germany in the shape of a cat?
Kindergarten Die Katze (The Cat) is a symbol of friendship between the German town Baden-Württemberg and its neighbour, French town Alsace. Designed by French artist Tomi Ungerer and German architect d’Ayla-Suzan Yöndel, this play haven is purrfect for young, growing minds.
You enter through the cat’s mouth where a staircase leads to the head where the main room is. The space is full of light thanks to the eye windows. The body contains more classrooms, a change room, a kitchen and dining room. The legs are play areas, the roof has grass which represents the cat’s fur and the tail is a slide where the kids leave the building.
What an inspirational place to play and learn. We wish there were more places like this.
