Millie isn’t your typical sleek black cat. The moment she climbed onto her human, Craig Armstrong’s shoulder at the Furburbia Adoption Centre in Utah, he knew she would make an awesome climbing partner.
Although Millie showed a talent for scaling heights, it took Craig lots of training to get her to follow his every step. “It’s taken a lot of practice and many trips to get Millie to the point where she follows me down a trail past areas like thickets that would have distracted her otherwise” he told Bored Panda.
Craig began by taking Millie to local parks, “I’d run from tree to tree and get her to follow. This got her used to being outside and following me around”.
Millie likes to scale cliffs, if there’s high ground, she’ll seek it.
Of course, safety comes first. Millie has her own harness, leash and rope.
She loves slabby areas where she can scramble from ledge to ledge, but she’s is not fond of wide-open spaces.
And like any professional climber, she’s not afraid to take big leaps.
Who says only dogs make good climbing partners?
