cats make reading fun

The Animal Rescue League of Berks County, P.A., has the most brilliant idea ever that involves children reading to their shelter cats.

The ‘Book Buddies’ program invites kids between the ages of 6 to 13 to read to their cats still looking for homes.

According to Animal Rescue League, this program not only helps kids improve their reading skills, but the cats benefit too as they ‘find the rhythmic sound of a voice very comforting and soothing’.

The internet agreed with the shelter with the image below hitting the number one spot on Reddit, just 7 hours after it was submitted.

Children and animals go hand in hand. We wish more programs like this are adopted by shelters worldwide!
